DIY washer necklace

 
For me no day can go buy without making anything. These days I am eyeing anything and everything that I can paint. And the latest victims were a couple of washers. These can be bought at any hardware store and if your husband is the Do-It-Yourselfer around the house, just peep into his toolbox or where ever he keeps his stuff.

I serioulsy wanted to mark this post as Buy or DIY.. but this is a DIY post only. Because.. well.. nobody sells necklace made of washers :)

Here's what you will need.

1. Couple of washers
2. Paint brush
3. Acrylic paint
4. Necklace or (whatever you wish to hang around your neck)

Hey all,

Lace and sheers are so in this season.. I have been buying anything that has lace on it. I have lace T shirts, lace dresses and even shoes with lace. I spotted some cool looking lace bags while window shopping and I needed to have one right away..

I thought of buying but then I stumbled upon this lovely DIY to make a lace envelope clutch and I remembered that I have an old dress (from my childhood) lying in my closet and it is made of similar lace fabric... About old things.. I do have very old belongling still in good condition, because I believe in repairing and not throwing away.

Buy or Diy: Embellished collar shirt

Hey there,

I went online window shopping on Koovs :) and found some really nice casual collared shirts. They have lovely embellished collars that give them a fun feel. These can be worn casually or even to office (if the bling is not too much). But I was really disappointed at the price of these. Come on, just adding little bit of embellishment does not  escalates its price 3 times!

I will not spend 1500 on a shirt, but I still want to have something like this. I searched my closet and found a plain black shirt that I never wear anywhere because it makes me feel like I am going to a funeral. Buy or DIY: Phone Cover

Hi there,

I am back with another BUY or DIY post. A few days back I was looking to buy a colorful cover for my Tab on a website and I just couldn't help noticing the lovely Iphone cases available online.
I am not a fan of Iphone so no chance of owning it. I will stick to anything that runs android any day.
I currently own an antique phone, Samsung Galaxy S2 Rooted and Running Cyanogenmod 11 (Android Kitkat). I have owned this phone for nearly 3 years now and I am still not in any mood to change it. But after looking at those lovely phone covers I do want to jazz up my phone a little bit... Or a lot.

 I use the lovely leather pouch that came with the phone to carry it. It gives a more sophisticated feel in office. But at times a being a bit funky is required. I looked up the internet buy could not find anything within budget/suitable for my phone. My phone has become antique as I earlier said.
I had an old hard case lying around that I had stopped using, because it added to the thickness of the phone and made it bulky. So yesterday it was time to sacrifice it for one of my DIYs.

My inspiration: Actually nothing.. I just wanted a red case. But for pictorial representations here a picture

Hey all,

I tried my hand on a different kind of shopping this time. I went shopping for needles and crochet hooks. Actually I wanted to make something for my mom for a long time. I am kind of newbie at this stuff but I think youtube will come to the rescue. But before that I had to gather the supplies. My dear hubby bought lovely yarn from New Delhi and I couldn't wait to get started. So here's what I bought.

DIY Thomas the Tank engine for kids fancy dress competition (Halloween costumes)

I was very busy conjuring up something for my kid's fancy dress competition in school.
He was Christmas tree last year, that was made entirely out of paper.
This time since he is a year older.. I decided to make something more complicated and something he is very fond of so that he will enjoy his dress.
After a lot of pondering (mainly googling) I zeroed in on Thomas the Tank Engine.
Now everyone who has a little kid at home knows about Thomas.
I found a link on Pinterest that gave me some hope that I could do it alone. And here's how it turned out

There was a fancy dress competition at my kids school a few months back, and I seized this opportunity to put my craftiness into use. I had the option of renting a costume for him but I decided to take the matter in my own hands.
